Overview

This course covers a range of commonly encountered first aid situations, including treating asthma, bites and stings, minor bleeding, bleeding and shock, bone / muscle and joint injuries, burns and scalds, choking (adults), communication and casualty care, coping in an emergency, electric shock, fainting, contents of a first aid kit, foreign objects, head injuries, heat exhaustion, hypothermia, keeping safe and warm, low blood sugar, poisons, primary survey, recovery position, resuscitation (adult), seizures, severe allergic reaction, and spinal injury.

To provide basic first aid training for children and young adults.

All enrolled cadets.

Desirable

  • Completed the HeartStart training course.
